You may discover college credits you didn't know you had.
How? Through a "prior learning assessment" process.
Some of our degree completion programs give you the chance to earn college credit for what you’ve already learned on the job. The assessment does not look at how long a student has been in the workplace or in a certain field; it examines what a student has learned during his or her career that is the equivalent of what is taught in one (or more) of the degree program's required courses.
Prior learning assessments are not currently available for every degree program in the College of Extended Learning, but the university is adding it as an option for them in the future. Additionally, the process varies and may include an examination or submission of a portfolio.
